Ana Pato

Ana Pato is a curator, a PhD candidate at the University of São Paulo, and a FAPESP researcher fellow (2013-2016). In 2015, she was a researcher-associate at the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, and in 2014, the chief-curator of the 3rd Bahia Biennale. She was the project director of the Associação Cultural Videobrasil between 2000 an 2012. Pato is the author of the book Expanded Literature: archive and quotation in the work of Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster (2012).

O tradutor e a janela: Entre o método e a prática

This paper addresses the issue of how to use translation as a method to understand archives. To this end, this paper proposes an intersection between Vilém Flusser’s reflection about his own writing method and the artistic experience of Mabe Bethônico as translator of the archives of the geologist and geographer Edgar Aubert de la Rüe.
